Henry and what Protestantism could do for him

Henry VIII was not a Protestant. He wanted England to be a Catholic country but with him at the top rather than the Pope. For him the Reformation was not so much about religion as it was about politics and money. However many of the people around him at Court saw the Reformation in religious terms and attempted to move England far further towards Protestantism than Henry wanted.
