September 26, 2012

I want you to look at the 3 propaganda images on pages 86, 87 & 89 of the AQA text book and subject them to the same type of analysis you did for your controlled assessment: what is their type and provenience; what are they depicting; how useful are they to historians?

Homework for 19th September 2012

September 19, 2012

I want you to do two things:

(a) Finish watching the YouTube film we were watching in class today. It can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF_fOHjWJMo

(b) It is time for some revision just to keep your memory ticking over. Let me take you back to a time when you were young and carefree, namely when you were in Year 10 and GCSE examinations seemed but a dimly-perceived thundercloud on a far horizon. We studied the Russian revolution back then in those sunlit uplands of your childhood. Time for a flashback test. I want you to prepare for a test essay for the first History period next week, the title of which is:

How was it that the Provisional Government was able to take power in Russia in Feb 1917 but not hold it beyond October 1917?
